Deciding to have a loft conversion was one of the biggest financial decisions we have made. It was also a huge change to our home, the structure of our house and hopefully will be a positive transformation to our home life. As I write, there is one minor job left to do, and then it will be goodbye to the skip on the drive and the scaffolding.
When we first looked for a company, out of the four we approached only two contacted us. One was a national company and the other was Loft Living, which is relatively local to us. Of the two, Loft Living provided a lower quote and informed us that they employed their own team, rather than sub-contracting the work. After an initial visit from Dan and George, which was friendly, positive and very informative, they submitted a detailed quote within a few days. We felt they provided a much more personal touch and genuinely listened to us and answered our endless questions. The project started around mid March and has taken almost two months. Dan and George regularly visited during the project to monitor progress, ensure we were happy with the work and to make sure their employees had no problems. We have absolutely no regrets about our decision to proceed with Loft Living.
Our home is fairly modern and the project was deemed to be relatively straightforward. We have had two rooms built in the loft space, but no bathroom. The Loft Living team have been hard working, polite and respectful of our home. The specialist contractors employed have been the same. They have responded to all our requests and adjustments, and have resolved any issues that occurred as a result of the building work. We are very pleased with the new rooms, and the amount of light and space it has brought into our home.
In summary, Loft Living provides a professional service at a very competitive price. Their employees and sub-contractors are polite, approachable and friendly. Whilst a loft conversion can be a lengthy and stressful decision, Loft Living does everything they can to make the process as hassle free and unobtrusive as possible. We would strongly recommend them to anyone thinking of having their loft space converted.
